What inspires your style?
I draw a lot of inspiration from childhood memories, Louisiana wildlife and folklore, nature, and the small magical moments we tend to overlook. I love telling stories that feel warm, imaginative, and welcoming.
Can you match another artist’s style?
I can absolutely take inspiration from styles, moods, or aesthetics you love. However, I don’t directly copy another artist’s work. My goal is to help you create something that feels unique to your story.
Do you work with first-time authors?
Absolutely! Many of my projects begin with authors who are creating their very first book. I’m happy to guide you through the illustration process and help bring your story to life in a way that feels smooth and enjoyable.
What’s your illustration process like?
I like to keep the process collaborative and transparent. Here’s how most projects flow:
1. Consultation & Contract – We discuss your story, timeline, and goals.
2. Character Exploration – We define the look and personality of your characters.
3. Storyboarding – I sketch page layouts to plan the visual pacing.
4. Line Art – Clean, refined illustrations.
5. Color – Bringing everything to life with mood and detail.
6. Final Files & Print Prep – You’ll receive files formatted for your chosen printer.
You’ll see updates at key steps so we stay aligned creatively.
How long does it take to illustrate a full book?
The timeline depends on the number of pages, the complexity of the artwork, and my current schedule. If you have a specific launch date or event in mind, let me know — we can plan accordingly.
Can I hire you for character design only?
Yes! Character development is one of my favorite parts of the process.
Whether you need main characters for a book, pitch materials, or even a mascot, I offer standalone character design packages.
How do revisions work?
Each project includes a set number of revisions during the sketch and color stages. This keeps the project moving efficiently. If you need additional changes later, we can always add them — I’ll just adjust the quote accordingly.
What are your rates?
Pricing varies based on project length, detail level, and timeline.
Once I know more about your project (page count, characters, style), I’ll send a clear, customized quote — no hidden fees or surprises.
What usage rights are included?
You’ll receive the rights to use the illustrations for your project and its marketing.
The original copyright to the artwork generally stays with the illustrator, though full buyout options are available if needed. I’m always happy to explain what works best for your goals.
Do you format artwork for KDP, IngramSpark, or print shops?
Yes! I can prepare your final files for your chosen printer, including bleed, trim, and gutter spacing. If you’re new to print formatting — don’t worry — I’ll walk you through it.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes — most projects are split into milestone payments throughout the process.
A deposit is required to begin, and the remaining payments are scheduled to match project progress.
